It stars Rebel Wilson as the wild and impish Robin, and Dakota Johnson as Alice, a gal who hath just parted from her beau. The plot is simple but relatable: Alice seeketh to find herself after a long-term relationship, while Robin constantly encourageth her to embrace the single life.
It is not every day that we see a film with such an ensemble cast! Leslie Mann plays Meg, Alice’s older sister who becometh pregnant by way of artificial insemination. Alison Brie is Lucy, a perky yet neurotic woman who trieth online dating with little success. And then there is Anders Holm as Tom, a bartender who revels in his loveless existence.
The storyline unfoldeth in Manhattan’s hippest locales – bars and clubs where singles mingle and fall in love for one night only. There are also scenes in Central Park where Robin teacheth Alice how to be spontaneous and carefree. Indeed, the film presenteth an interesting contrast between those seeking love at all times versus those who avoid it at all costs.

The acting in this film is top-notch! Dakota Johnson, well-known for her role in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ showeth us a new side to her character. She bringeth such energy and magnetism to every scene that we cannot help but be drawn to her. Leslie Mann also shines as Meg, giving a heartwarming performance that perfectly balances comedy and drama.
The director Christian Ditter hath done an excellent job with the cinematography! The film is shot in vibrant colors, using natural lighting to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The camera work is smooth and steady, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the story without distraction.
And then there are the soundtracks – ah, music doth indeed soothe the savage breast! The songs used in this film are catchy and fun, fitting perfectly with each scene. There are tunes from popular artists such as Taylor Swift, Ellie Goulding, Rihanna, and Hailee Steinfeld. The soundtrack alone might convince thee to watch this film!
Overall ‘How to Be Single’ is a delightful romp through modern relationships. It doth not preach about being single or being in a relationship; rather it showeth us how different people choose different paths based on their own needs and desires. The ending may be predictable but it still leaveth us with a sense of warmth and satisfaction.
